ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Students shall be accepted regardless of age, sex, nationality, religious beliefs, socio-economic status, political affiliations, or physical disabilities.
  2. Students must meet all the prescribed admission requirements of the University/College.
    • Must qualify in the College Admission Test (CLSU-CAT).  Transferees who have earned at least 36 credit units of college courses need not take the CLSU-CAT.
    • Must have complete and valid credentials
      1. Grade 12 report card or its equivalent.
      2. Copy of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) birth certificate.
      3. One “2×2” colored ID picture with name tag following the format: Last Name, First Name, M.I.  Computer-generated picture will not be accepted.
    • Must qualify in the physical or health examination conducted by the University physician.
    • Must submit a duly accomplished enrollment form.
    • Others, as prescribed by the concerned College.
  3. Students must pledge to abide by and comply with all the rules and regulations of the University/College.
  1. New/Beginning first-year students are not accepted during the Second Semester or Summer Term.
  2. Students must not have enrolled in any academic or college subject/s before their enrollment as beginning first year, otherwise, they shall be classified as transferees.
  3. Students enrolled in vocational courses or those not leading to a degree program are admitted as beginning first-year students.
  1. Applicants must meet all the prescribed admission requirements of the University (General Requirements) and the concerned College.
    • Also, the transfer student must submit the following:
      • Certification of good moral character;
      • Certificate of honorable dismissal/transfer credentials; and,
      • Copy of grades signed by the Registrar or official transcript of records.
  2. Applicants must not have more than 25% failure in all units taken during the last semester.
  3. Only students who have enrolled in any course leading to a degree program are admitted as transferees.
  4. Transferees from SUC institutions shall be admitted and treated as regular students following the existing policies of the University/College.
  5. Official Transcript of Records (OTR) shall be submitted before admission for the following semester: otherwise; enrollment will not be permitted.
  6. The admission of the transferee is subject to the availability of the slot.
  7. Admission of the transferee is recommended by the concerned Department/College.
  8. Transferees must comply with the provisions on accreditation/validation of courses.
  1. Applicants must meet all the prescribed admission requirements of the University/College and the course applied for as stated in General Requirements.
    • In addition to General Requirements, the applicant must have the following:
      1. Personal history statement
      2. Affidavit of support
      3. Alien certificate of registration (ACR)
      4. Student visa
      5. Certificate of Proficiency in English issued by the CLSU Department of English and Humanities for a fee, for students who come from countries where English is not the medium of instruction
      6. Security clearance from his/her embassy
    • Must pay a non-refundable application fee
  2. Applicants must meet all the prescribed requirements by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
  3. A foreign student may be admitted based on the availability of a slot in the course applied for.
  1. Students of other institutions may wish to cross enroll in CLSU for the subject(s) needed for them to graduate.
  2. Cross-enrollees must present a cross-registration permit from the Registrar of the student’s mother institution specifying the total number of units and the subject(s) to be cross enrolled.
  3. The cross enrollee must present a certificate of good moral character.
  4. Admission is subject to the availability of a slot for the subject(s) being cross-enrolled.
  5. A student from another institution may be allowed to cross-enroll within the registration period only.
  1. An audit student is one who is not earning credits for completed work.
  2. Admission shall be approved by the Dean of Admissions upon the recommendation of the Dean of the college concerned.
  3. An audit student shall not be allowed to enroll for more than nine units per semester or to register for more than two years, except by special permission of the Dean of the concerned college.
  4. The work of the audit student is reported as “Satisfactory” or “Unsatisfactory” at the end of the semester since subjects taken are non-credited.
  5. The student must sign an agreement waiving the right to receive and to demand credit for the work done.
  6. Written permission from the Dean of the concerned college must be presented to the Office of Admissions together with the required documents stated in General Requirements.
  1. A returning student is one who is not enrolled in the University in the preceding semester(s).
  2. Admission of a returning student is dependent on the student’s previous scholastic standing.
  3. The student must qualify and comply with Sections 1.1.2.3 (Must qualify in the physical or health examination conducted by the University physician) and 1.1.2.5 (Others, as prescribed by the concerned College).
  1. A student shifter is one who wishes to shift or transfer to another curriculum in the University.
  2. The student must meet the admission requirements for that curriculum.
  3. The request to change the curricular program should be made by using the prescribed form. This should be recommended for approval by the concerned College Registrars and Department Chairpersons and presented for approval of the concerned Deans.
  1. A degree holder or undergraduate student who is not currently enrolled in any other institution of higher learning may be allowed to take credit courses, provided that the student satisfies the admission requirements of the concerned college.
  2. The student must submit a certificate of good moral character in addition to the requirements stated in General Requirements.
  3. The student shall not be allowed to enroll for more than nine units per semester or to register for more than two years, except with permission from the Dean of the concerned college.
  4. A non-degree student is not a prospective candidate for graduation for any degree in the University since the student does not have an organized program of study to follow.
  5. The admission of the student is approved by the Dean of Admissions upon recommendation by the Dean of the concerned college.
  1. For Special Course, an applicant must present a certificate of graduation from elementary school.
  2. For Agricultural Mechanics Course, an applicant must present a junior high school report card.
